Introduction of Domain Enrichment Service

Protein structural domains, as functional units, manifest different structural domains with specific functions and play an important role in the functional modules of organisms, and the study of protein structural domains implies great significance to reveal the complex and diverse functional modules in organisms. Key proteins, as conserved proteins in protein interactions, are difficult to be changed by the external environment. The analysis of the enrichment level of protein structural domains can identify important features of key proteins.

Domain Enrichment Service Content

There is a close relationship between protein structure and function. For example, antimicrobial peptide structural domain enrichment results showed enrichment of the bilayer sandwich of CATH, knottin of SCOP, and cluster1 structural domain of TM, which also have antifungal activity. We provide structural domain enrichment analysis based on three structural classification methods, SCOP, CATH, and TM.

We used a hypergeometric distribution test-based approach to perform enrichment and deletion significance analysis of specific feature structure domains.

We are able to perform functional enrichment of single structural domain proteins and multiple structures domain proteins, providing guidance for interaction analysis of host proteins with enriched structural domains.
